Beginner Hat Knit in the Round Project

Once you start knitting hats in the round you won't want to go back to making them flat. The skills are an itsy bit more advanced, but the rewards are worth it - no sewing and no seams! Hats in the round is a great next step after making scarves. 

Skills

• Cast on
• Join stitches in the round
• Knit & Purl in the same row
• Decrease stitches
• Weaving in ends
• Following a pattern
• Working with circular needles
• Working with double-pointed needles

Materials

• Cascade Spuntaneous or Malabrigo Rasta: 1 skein
• 10mm/US15 – 16″ circular needles
• 10mm/US15 – 8″ double-pointed needles
• Jumbo Tapestry Needle
• Pompom Maker or Fur/Synthetic Fur Pompoms (optional)
